The Troup Baptist Association (TBA) exists to support, encourage, and develop cooperating churches in Troup, Heard, and Meriwether counties of Georgia. We believe we are “Better Together” so we have chosen to work hand-in-hand to SPREAD the Gospel, SERVE our communities, and SUPPORT one another in the mission given to all believers by Jesus Christ in the Great Commission. We are dedicated to helping one another thrive in fulfill our calling.
Here we are at the start of a new year! It’s funny how no one ever calls and checks with us about this big, annual change. It just happens – like it or not. I’ve discovered that a lot of things are like that in life. Things happen. Things change. My mentoring pastor used to say, “God doesn’t even have a reverse gear in His car because He’s always moving forward.”
I had another birthday in the last few weeks and got a year older. This annual event is accompanied by a few more aches, pains, and bone popping each time I get up or sit down.
Then, I found myself standing at the altar officiating the wedding ceremony of my youngest son. How did that happen? I was coaching him in Dixie Youth baseball and teaching him how to hit a golf ball only yesterday. You’ll be happy to know I made it through the ceremony without breaking down. But I only got a couple of words out before it hit in my reception prayer. Oh, well. We are so happy and proud of them. I’ve included a couple of pictures below of my son, Caleb, and our new daughter-in-law, Ashton. < read more >
